COMING ATTRACTIONS: DOUBLE FEATURE: EARTH VS. THE FLYING SAUCERS & MARS ATTACKS!

Well, as next month marks the start of our third year here at The B-Movie Catechism and the next review, by chance, happens to be our 50th, it seems like a pretty good time to have another double feature. Earth Vs. The Flying Saucers is a no-brainer, but what’s Tim Burton’s mega-bucks mega-flop Mars Attacks! doing in these parts? You’ll just have to wait and see.

Okay, the lesson here may be "be careful what you ask for..." because its 10+ PM here and I literally whooped and woke up at least one of the kids when I saw that you were doing this. (I sense several people somewhere sharpening there cyber-knives...) I just asked for this because I was really, really depressed. Clinically. First fall and winter off meds in six years. At the time, the idea of an Obama presidency sent me over the edge (so to speak.) So, thanks for the graced moment. I am thrilled to see what you can make of this "monster."

Yep, Mars Attacks is definitely over the budget cap I've placed on movies here. Looks like I'll have some explaining to do. Of course, I'm tempted to do the whole review in that Martian ACK ACK dialog so no one will understand what I'm saying anyway :)

"No one will understand what I'm saying"???

Ack Ack Ack! Ack! Ack!
(makes international sign of the doughnut) Ack! Ack! Ack!

Surely, if lots of people can learn Klingon & compose songs & stories in it (so I'm told--never actually met any of them), Martian shouldn't be too hard.

You won't get any complaints about treating Burton's "Mars Attacks" as a B-Movie from me.

Actually, thanks to the LOTR movies, I'm having to get used to hearing people speak Elven on my yearly trip to the Renn Fest.
